As I sit in the snowy, rainy mess that is Chicago weather, part of me worries that the world is on fire. I see an article that sets the Doomsday clock to 100 seconds to midnight. And I, of course, review all the delicious memes about the looming apocalypse. But while those things spiral out of control, I prefer to look toward the summer. My emails are flooded with information about Origins and Gen Con and the yearly game of planning my life seven months in advance begins!

That’s right, FASA Games and Earthdawn Team will be attending the two largest Midwest conventions! And this is no simple year! I just passed my fifth anniversary of working with FASA and a solid forty years since the company was founded. And we have big plans this year! Andi will lock me away from the public if I reveal too much, but I think I can spill some of the tea here.

Most of the team is available for origins this year and we will be endeavoring to bring something new to the table. While we will still have plenty of Legends of Barsaive adventures for the community, we will also be partaking in what I’ve jokingly been calling the “Fourth World Tour.” With newly designed adventures in exotic locales like Blood Wood, the Wastes, Creana, and Shosara, we plan to push the boundaries of the world of Earthdawn. These exotic adventures are not part of the LoB continuity and will have everything required for play provided, so bring on a happy face and be prepared to go toe to to with foes that might well be beyond your reach! Dying in a one off is, after all, far more fun than dying in a campaign!

At Gen Con, we will be bringing in the full court press. On top of the usual fun of seminars and new Legends of Barsaive adventures (keep your eyes peeled for LoB111!), we will continue the trend of serving you up fresh content. Including (but not limited to) a handcrafted adventure dealing with everyone’s favorite magical baddies: the Denairastas. This adventure will show off our excitement for the new Iopos book… and might tie into a product that Andi only allows us to call “The Super Secret Project” ™. Hopefully I can let more slip soon.

As always, we love to hear from you and hear your opinion on our products and our direction. What are you enjoying and what do you wish to see more of? Where do you think we missed the mark? I am proud of the progress I have made as a creator in these five years working with FASA, and I want to thank everyone that has stuck with me since my earliest work in 2015. I’m excited to hear your stories of the early days of FASA, and (believe it or not) I have my own share of stories to share back.

I hope to see you all in the summer. And, until then, I’ll be in our Discord!
