1879: Samsut Professions: Harbatu Litbanu (Explorer)

Let’s take a look at the first in a series of the Samsut Professions. This is a work in progress, so there’s some gaps and placeholders in the write-up.


Harbatu Litbanu (Explorer)

“Oh, yes, it’s in pristine condition, but we’ve already got three of those at the Temple. Given how easily they tend to go off when removed from the mounting, and our position on the border with an unfriendly city-state, let’s leave it for their Harbatim, and move on to that more promising spot up the hill that direction.”
Part expedition organizer, part negotiator, part academic adventurer, the Harbatu-Litbanu generally leads the team. The Harbatu Diyaylu is better at taking point, and the Harbatu Nappilu has considerably more skill in handling Annunaki artifacts. The Litbanu understands enough of their role to direct them, and has the abilities and knowledge required to handle logistics, border crossings between city-states, and rival teams. Above all else, the Litbanu can glance over an Annunaki site and know immediately whether it’s worth risking their team and the resources of their city-state, and what sort of reward might be forthcoming from the Amelites for a successful retrieval.
