Quick Reload in Revised Edition

The 2nd edition players guide has a rank 1 firearm skill that lets you reload and shoot at no penalty. Revised edition mentions training and equipment that helps in speed loading but has no such items or abilities anywhere in the book. Did you mean to speed loaders or fighting style skills that allowed you to quick reload?

Speed loaders apply only for revolver weapons. They let you reload all chambers in the cylinder as one action, so it is much like changing the clip in a rifle – without a speed loader you would have to reload each revolver chamber separately. It seems we forgot to include speed loaders in the FSR equipment list. It shouldn't cost much, probably about 1 fb or so.

Crossbows also have Recocking Tools (p.290-291). The price has fallen out of the lists, they should be 5 fb each.

OK so nothing to help reloading auto feed weapons like pistols and rifles and still firing them with less then a -6 goal penalty? (which seems pretty steep since in previous editions it was the same penalty as quick drawing which is only a -2 goal penalty)

I am not proficient in the rules set so I can't answer this for sure. But if -6 seems too steep, I recomend you reduce it. I don't know if there's a blessing or something that allows you to reload Autofeeds faster...

We ended up going with a just making a simple little skill/abilty/benefice or whatever you want to call it basically a trained little ability that cost 3 xp and lets you reload and shoot at no penalty.

Sounds like a Blessing, and a rather good one at that :) I would set it to either 2 or 4 Exp though, as the Char.Gen. points ("Extra Points") would be half the Exp. point cost, and avoiding half-points is a good thing. Good work!

It seems I overlooked this one. Like Angelman said, this makes an easy to add benefice. Since it is something that can be trained/taught I would go with a Benefice and put it at 2 pts.

My original idea was that this would get included in some fighting styles as well, giving them a little more to offer as well.

In retrospect, I agree -6 is pretty steep. My reasoning was to avoid people going fast reload/unload clip round after round. Of course, a good GM will just let them run out of ammo. :)
