it doesnt specify if the attack of the ray goes against phisical armor or mystical armor
i think goes against phisical armor, but it will be nice to have an official clarification if not already done

well, many spells are targeting the phisical armor instead the mystical armor, and a "ray" seems more appropriate to target the phisical armor. I will try to check what you say, about the spells targeting the mystical armor if not specified differently

Moonray is Mystic Armor. It generally works like the Mind Dagger spell. It has limited damage, only Willpower, so Physical Armor would be a major handicap. I've already waved the Strain requirement as well, no other Attack Test requires Strain (and Moon Ray is the Attack Test, the Strain might make sense if it was the Effect Test for damage).
