Being heroic is not about fighting without problems (any kind), its about fighting on the right side even if it means injuries, Wounds, troubles, misery or death. You get Wounds and you fight even if you get -20 penalty, thats what real heroism is.

Well you dont die, because a minimum result of any test even with -1000000 penalty is 1, so you heal really slow, unless you use Physician skill not to have this penalty to Recovery Tests. Plus 13th circle character would have some magical healing aids. Freid78, come on.

The reason the "minimum result of 1" is called out in the healing section, is that your # of Wounsd is applied to the Result of the roll (not the Step # as is standard). While this mirrors the "Apply modifiers to Results" optional rule, it needed to be called out seperately due to the base-rule assumption of modifying the Step.
For the cases where there is a possibility of getting worse after trying to heal, I'd rather use specific Illness or Bleeding Wounds rules for those situations.

I know the film, just I know it under title in my native language so it wasnt obvious. We play realism heavy and most Wounds not treated right get worse, my players always carry at least 5 Physician kits (wounds, diseases, poisons).
