Re: [Ed4] Player's Guide Feedback
With regard to the page numbers thing in the PDF, I asked that to be incorporated in the final batch of tweaks and revisions.

Re: [Ed4] Player's Guide Feedback
Should be post typos and such in this thread? Or is there a better place for that (aka stuff that is not a rules discussion/question).
Specifically, an omitted word in the opening fiction piece, stuff like that.
EDIT - nevermind, just noticed the errata thread in the player's section. Of course now I can't find what I noticed before.

Re: [Ed4] Player's Guide Feedback
I just noticed that the "Read and Write Language" Talent and the "Read/Write Language" Skill have different nomenclature. Is this deliberate?

On the skill training table on p. 451, can you add a column for the Silver Cost for learning the Skill?

Re: [Ed4] Player's Guide Feedback
Our group was finally able to get together and play the 4ed rules for the first time yesterday. Two players made new characters (Wizard and Nethermancer).
It's probably too late now, but here are some things we noticed that needed attention:
- The Strength of mounts isn't listed anywhere, so it makes it difficult to use Charge. Fortunately I still had my 3ed GMG, but for those new to Earthdawn with only the PG, this would be a problem.
- The Disciplines layout is confusing. One of my newish players whose character is 4th Circle picked talents from the Journeyman talent options because they are listed closely directly below and there isn't a clear enough delineation. The other at the table agreed the new layout was confusing.
On a positive note: the players with the Wizard and Nethermancer were playing spellcasters for the first time and loved the spell rules (with past editions it's often been the opposite experience for first timers). Everyone agreed that magicians are now kick-arse!
Players really like the new +2 damage/extra success rule. I thought there might be grumbling that armour defeating hits were gone, but they didn't miss them because they too were excited at doing big damage (our Swordmaster managed to get five successes on his hit roll at one point causing jaws to drop). Not sure if they'll still feel the same way when a Horror is doing the same to them, but for now they like this rule.
They liked the new karma rule too, and are spending points freely but conscious of keeping some in reserve for when they're really needed (especially our troll and obsidiman who have the lowest karma pools).

Sounds like a fun game. Did everyone start fresh from higher circles, or did you convert older characters?

Re: [Ed4] Player's Guide Feedback
Converted 3ed 5th Circle Swordmaster, Horror Stalker, and Outcast Warrior (had to wing it on those last two, but it really wasn't that difficult - players are happy).
Only Wizard and Nethermancer were new characters. Made other players jealous seeing them use new rules (Outcast Warrior player said in a childlike voice: Awwwww, wish I was a Wizard! )
