Also, it's not like they put price tags on all the items in the actual shop. In character, the item is out on display, and to get the price you have to ask the shopkeep, at which point they're free to say whatever they want. The standard prices listed in the book are just the average of what the market bears out; that's not the price the same item will sell for all the time.

There is tag -. you just got it from seller.
And i can not get discount, but making price higher there it was at start make buyer idiot. I can easy go with start price as limit and if i drop price then good to me.

That's general bullshit, it can be true for few places and rarity but common items, please. In general you have rough idea of item worth. If your statement is true then Haggle should be skill that added in starting adept same as speak language. If you haggle every time you buy it is normal you have this skill. As it is not added then 2xprice is not common (it is fun to do such haggling few times in play, but haggle every price for everything make game boring as hell, so i want mechanics that support fast price discount if possible). Of course there is variation in price.

I like idea that Baravakar posted, but i would add extra difficulty for raririty or exotic as option.

Have you ever been in Egipt? Prices are 500% higher for common items and souvenirs. As for souvenirs you don't know the exact price You just know hom much you are willing to pay for an item. That's why you have to haggle. Remember about that.

These systems sound good for major purchases, but it's a lot of work for every little purchase. I like the idea of a mini game, but only for things like master craft, plot shaping items. And if Haggle is a magical talent, shouldn't it always benefit the character? Could there be a simpler system for stocking up for an expedition? The player hand a shopping list to the GM with the average price totaled. The GM tells the player the modifier (104%, 98%, etc) and the base DN for the area. The player makes a Haggle test, and for every success the stuff becomes 2% cheaper. The GM could have a separate modifier for magical items or healing stuff or whatever if he or she wanted, just adding new columns to the calculation if more complexity is desired. Still just a couple of calculator functions.
