Do extra successes with a spellcasting test affect the recovery test granted by a water spear (from the Elemental Spear spell)? The reason I ask is that in the description it is Wil+2, not Wil+4 like the other, and it is not affected by other recovery aids. So I know you can't combine heat food or a booster potion with a water spear.

Yes you are right extra successes give +2 to recovery test.
And yes doesnt work with heat food or other healing aids.

Clarification: Water spear costs a Recovery test and is a Recovery test. However, it does not benefit from any effects that improve Recovery tests (e.g. booster potions or the Heat Food spell), but Discipline abilities that allow Karma to be spent on a Recovery test can be used.
