In the near future my Elf Nethermancer is going to hit Circle 6, and after that she's going with some Thief Circles. This has prompted me to read up on synergies, and there are a lot of those, but it has also caused me to take another look at any Nethermancer spells dealing with stealth, and I have some questions.

Shadow Meld

the target gains a +4 bonus to all Stealthy Stride tests while near shadows for the duration of the spell

I'm guessing the intent is that it requires a generally shadow area, like at night with torches, and being near shadows means being able to hide in them, or can I actually use it to hide in bright daylight, if there's something like a cart in the middle of an open field, casting a shadow? Spell says yes, logic says "no you dumbass".

If the cart casts a shadow, I'd say yes. Any shadows! If they are holding a parasol and are in its shadow, then they disappear and the parasol appears to float on its own!

Okay, maybe not all shadows.

I would say generally speaking "any shadows". remember, however: "This talent does not allow the adept to vanish while being observed—once a
character is aware of the adept’s presence and watching him the talent will not work."

so if there is a cart, yes, they can stealthy stride behind it (they could have done that regardless, mind you). but if someone is staring at them, they can't just walk behind the cart and disappear into the shadows, and if someone looks away for a few moments and then looks back, and the only possible hiding place is behind the cart, well... It's a fair assumption, that if you knew this would be the question before opening the thread, the language could use some tightening up
