I must venture to Landis to unlock the true potential of My Shroud of the Immortals. Deed: The owner must go to Landis and swear the oath of the High Tower Immortals there.
I have asked several friends to assist me in this endeavor. Along for the trip are Zil, Daldorer, Dvarim and William Carver.
We will take a ship from the Troll Moot of the IronMongers south to the Twilight Peaks. THen Earth Surf thanks to Zil towards where the River Liaj mets the River Delanus. Just North of Karafahd. It takes about 2 weeks to get here. We take a few days to bui;d Canoes with out riggers to get down and across the river. Once across the river we Earth Surf some more across Karafhad. We come to the Locust River and head upstream looking for a good place to cross.
As we cross the river, I am starting to feel a little bit anxious. Zil lets me know the Astral here is cloudy and tainted. We notice there are some large scars on the land, like they were caused by a horror. Dvarim and Zil also notice there are other pock marks here and there scattered around, where all the vegetation has died.
We continue South East as we are heading to the Capital of Landis, Vava. The landscape seems to be blasted here. THe landscape keeps shifting, forest, rocky, cragy, plains. THere seems to be a distinct line of where the changes are.
Queen Zarina’s mind fractured after a battle with Karafhad, thus letting a horror into her mind and take her over. Horrors were prominent in this area pre scourge.
Even though the land is all messed up, the path ways are still in good shape. There are also some cobblestone roads in good shape. THe rods lead only to ruins.
As we approach Vava, we notice that part of the path looks as if it had been hit with a giant sword and all the rocks and such had been scattered about from it. We come around a small outcropping of rocks to see the outer walls of Vava, in ruins. We continue on the path and head towards the center of town. The astral here is tainted.
As we make out way through the ruins of Vava, we are set upon by a small group of Slip Shades. Nasty creatures As soon as we finish off the group, Daldorer is surrounded my several arrows hitting the ground around him. Struguh is leading a group of Adepts, they say we are not welcome here, go back to Thera. We explain we are not Therans, we are from Throal and seek the Tower of the immortals.
Struguh Epau, is the leader of the Enduring Legion. The Enduring LEgion are the descendants of the Emerald Legion. THey tried to swear at the tower of the Immortal, but there is a horror living in the tower that killed everybody who entered. We are able to get much information about the horror. Flying horrors will attack from the top. Lots of traps inside. THe Tower is 12 floors high.
THe High Tower Immortals and THe Enduring Legion are all bound to the Emeralds of Landis. Legend of Taloda Ablestar. I remember Taloda Ablestar left Throal right before the Scourge headed for the BloodWood to help protect the elves. We want to go get a look at the tower. The camp of the Legion is about 20 miles north of the Tower of the Immortals. Joffa the cloaked fight and Solight with the crystal staff are going to come with us to scout the tower.
Using my Gaze into the Abyss ability I try to determine what the horror is that lurks inside the tower. We know there are scuriers, Gnashers, Slip Shades, Bone constructs, cadaver men, wind flayers, gloom wings and ergrin. The big horror actually infesting the tower, not sure of.
We make our way to the area of the Tower. Lots of horrors and constructs. We stay to the center of the trail, and away from the dead circles of vegetation on the ground. There will be a worm skull at the center. We spend a full day traveling to get within a couple miles of the tower. This is as close as we can get. We can see the top of the tower, windows, one has a polished metal shutter, the other looks like it has flesh pressed up against it. We make our way back to the Legion Camp.
After some discussion we are agreed to take a Blood oath to go trace the steps of Tloda Ablestar and try to find a way to weaken the curse on the land, the strength of the horror. THe 5 of my party and 5 of the Enduring Legion. Xeviouz, Zil, Dvarim, William Carver, Daldorer, Struguh, Iporen, Igen, Solyte and Jeaufa. After this is done, they share more information with us. THey had found a journal of Tloda Ablestar, she went into the tower and was afraid of what she found when she entered. She vowed to travel the lands and search for answers before returning.
THe Legion helps us back out of Landis lands. Back across the river, we stop at the Troll Moot. THey have legend of a horror stalker from the lands of Landis, she was asking about an enchanted crystal. The crystal was not enchanted at the moot so she moved on.
Next is a stop at Travar for more information gathering. Spend a couple days there scouring the libraries. They have record of her entering the city, staying for 3 days, then leaving. Next we head to the floating city.
There is record of her being at the FLoating City, she was after true water samples like Humans before her. She took a boat from the floating city. When we go to leave, we are meet at the dock by a ship of Certise. They want to take us to the Cliff City of LAla Gorge. Then we are escorted to a large library. We are told the path we follow stopped her. She was granted knowledge from the Vahlhala. We are given 3 scrolls. 2 were written by Teloda Ablestar. They are letters to be sent to Landis. She was abducted when leaving the floating city and taken to the Lala Gorge. The second letter says where the key is for the tower and how to reclaim it. But, she is not able to return to Landis as this is not her destiny. The third scroll is not signed, it is cryptic and says the human will travel a long distance seeking the heart of the stone tree. The warders will provide what she needs but only part with it in her good graces.
Now to THroal, we find several books about Teloda Ablestar in the Great Library. A single book penned by Teloda herself details her journey and tells exactly what she needs to do. We also find the name of the denizen of the tower: Aazhvat Many-Eyes
