The owner must learn the stag’s Name whose antlers adorn the helmet. The owner must find one of that stag’s legendary offspring and earn their antlers to replace on the helmet.

Learning the name of the stag is easy, since the antlers are famously those of Haga, the legendary stag mount of the even more legendary elvish master cavalryman Gildor Voronwe. Prior to becoming Master Voronwe's mount, Haga roamed the woods of the northwest Wyrm Wood. Prior to the scourge Master Voronwe was the noble who owned those lands. Looks like Daldorer is going to the Blood Wood.

Thorkell's Journal:
Daldorer has requested me to join him in hunting a creature to replace the horns of his helmet. The act of upgrading a thread item intrigued me so I agreed to join. Along for the journey were Xeviouz, William, and Jael. This expedition would take us deep into the Bloodwoods. My only experience with blood elves was when we met them in Smuggler's Respot. We did decide to start there so my contact with their mayor came in handy. We were able to meet a blood elf merchant on the outskirts of town who was able to get us an invitation into the woods after a few days.
It took us three weeks to reach our contact by horse. Daldorer told him our purpose and surprisingly he knew of the Thriving Stag. It seems his grandfather knew the original owner. He was more than willing to give us antlers. He did ask us for a favor: to deal with some orcs who were raiding their borders and burn the forest.
We were taken to where the last skirmish happened. From there we tracked them back out of the woods. We were able to find their camp and speak with them. They believed the blood elves and woods were horror tainted and needed to be dealt with. We tried to explain to them that this was not the case. They were extremely stubborn on this point. Chatak, their leader seemed enraged and attacked William. A fight ensued. Many of the council seemed infested with maggots. One even struck me so hard their fist exploded covering me in maggots, an experience I'd rather not repeat. On the verge of losing consciousness I attempted to recover through Fireblood only to feel a sharp stabbing. It appears my wound was infected by the horror and caused me more harm. I awoke to the party standing over me. It seems I died for a moment. Daldorer's magicks were able to save me. I must thank him later.
My armor is strong, but I'm too slow. They strike me around my armor. I must find become more nimble. I must become worthy of the armor I wear.
