thread weaving and multidiscipline adepts

Hi all, here once again
the question (clarification more precisely) is this
i have a player that has just gone for his second discipline. He is a 5th circle scout 1st circle shaman
he has rank 5 scout weaving and rank 2 shaman weaving
- relating to permanent threads, is max rank is 5 (highest rank)
- he weave shaman spells with the rank 2 shaman weaving
and up here is pretty clear
but how many threads can he activate ?
5 ? 7 ?
i mean, how many can be threaded to items, patterns, etcetc ?
the sum or the highest rank ?

The sum of the two is the maximum number of permanent (pattern) threads he can have woven.

He can have a number of permanent threads active equal to his highest Threadweaving talent rank.
