Well that works out well. Taking turns at it will keep things from being too taxing on any one of us. "I'll see if I can get a chance to chat with her either this afternoon or tomorrow then. If she has potential, I can make more formal testing into a demonstration. If not, I still have a stocked quiver for when my rotation comes around." I certainly don't want to deny anyone else their chance to put on their display and gain some legend, though I can certainly help if it's needed.
"I may ask for a few pointers, Mekhitar, when it gets closer to my time to speak." I can tell a story easy enough, but direct and to the point. To present it to a crowd, however, I'll need some suggestions to dress up the language. The target in that case isn't just to get the information across, but to entertain as well, and despite having some very good luck with my displays so far, entertainment isn't my focus.

"I doubt my swordplay is as visually impressive as Garsevan's, but I will do my best to keep up. We should perhaps find somewhere to practice this." I'll try to think and see if there are any places on the ship where it's actually possible to spar and choreograph something like this. Of course, it'd be nicer if the tourists would leave us alone for a while so we could meditate and prepare for our mission, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
“Not a problem, Alston,” says Mekhitar. “The main thing is to remember to describe what's around the target, and the process, not just the shot. I'll take this afternoon's storytelling, since the passengers will be restless and won't have settled in yet. Shaliko, can you take tomorrow?” Shaliko nods. “Excellent. Then we have today and tomorrow's noon entertainment and afternoon storytelling covered, and we're all on for dinner, and the rest of the day is ours to do with as we like. Shaliko, you don't have your flower?”
Shaliko grins. “No, I don't.”
“Oh my.” Mekhitar gives him a knowing look.
Gudrun arises. “I will be in the closet they call a cabin, meditating, as there is not enough room to open a book. Mekhitar, you must find Kolbeinn and I space in which we may pursue our studies.” And she leaves.
Mekhitar sighs. “Well, a Troubadour is never really off stage. Excuse me, I have to go talk with the third mate and see what we can do to pacify our Nethermancer.” He arises, gives a bow to the room in general, and makes an exit.
“We should probably choreograph something,” Garsevan says to Isaac.

Well, since we don't seem to have much of a rush, I'll take my time and enjoy the rest of my breakfast, though I won't take so long that it gets cold. Afterward, I'll try to find Issytho and ask him to deliver my message to Audelia abd her family. I'll leave it as an open invitation to speak with me in the afternoon today or tomorrow, and note that I'll most likely be on or around the lounge deck.
Hopefully finding our steward won't take the whole rest of the morning. I'll spend some time updating my journal, since I'll have quite a bit to fill in, and in the afternoon I'll find somewhere on the lounge deck where I can do some woodcarving. I'll make myself visible, in case anyone wants to see, though it's not a planned demonstration and I won't be announcing it.

"Indeed..." I say in reply to Garsevan. "...let's go and find a space for that. There should be enough space above deck, and it'll allow us to include the environment in our choreography...that's important, I think." Nodding to him, I'll start off toward the open air. Perhaps if we finish quickly enough, I'll have some time for a meditation. Getting distracted by all the other passengers and their desire to see us perform seems like a liability to me, there are so many other things we need to be wary of - hopefully the next leg of our journey will offer us a bit more time to improve our abilities. For now, I'll take what I can get, whenever I get some time to myself.

Alston: The steward is easy enough to find. He's staying fairly close to the lot of you, since he was assigned to see to your needs. He takes your message and shows up a very short time later to let you know that they'll come find you this afternoon, thank you so very much. Your journaling time goes quietly, no interruptions. You've been set up with your woodcarving for all of five minutes before one of the passengers asks you, “So is it true that artistic ability proves you free of Horror taint?”
Isaac: Make three Melee Weapons tests.

I figured as much; most Windlings aren't known for patience, let alone parents working for their child. Of course, the latter is one of the main reasons for speaking with her before testing anyway. Parents always have a biased view of their children.
When I'm approached, I'll pause and look up briefly from my work just to see who I'm addressing. "It's true for some of them." I'll reply as I start up again. "It really depends on the Horror causing the corruption. Some of them just make it difficult to focus on anything as they drive you mad. Some of them will allow you to concentrate, but pervert your view so that what you consider beautiful work is just twisted and vile." In mock serious tone, I'll add, "If you ever meet a Troubadour that only acts as a mime, run." Hopefully that comes across as the joke it's intended for, though if not, that's really just good advice in general.
"The main thing to remember about the Horrors is that they don't adhere to anyone's rules but their own. They're terrible beyond all imagination, and as soon as you think there's one weakness that will apply to all of them, you leave yourself open."

The three tests are as follows, I'll use karma on all three so as not to completely embarrass myself - the rolls are all 1d10+1d8+1d8:
Roll 1: 9+6+8(+3)=26
Roll 2: 10(+2)+6+4=22
Roll 3: 9+5+3=17

Roll 3: 9+5+3=17

Alston: The older dwarven couple who had asked you about the creativity test look very uncomfortable. “Um, thank you,” the man says, and they nervously disengage from what became, for them anyway, a very awkward situation. However, there's a young windling girl perched on the rail, whom you can now see, who nods with the wisdom of the teenage years. “Why should the Horrors follow rules? They're the bad guys. The good guys are the good guys because we follow the rules. The bad guys get to cheat and lie, and that's why they're so hard to beat.” She hops off the railing. “Hi, I'm Audelia. My mom and dad said I was supposed to come talk to you.”
Isaac: You press Garsevan hard in the choreography, making him work to achieve a victory. He laughs at the end of it, and salutes you, as a few passengers who had stopped to watch applaud. “Good show, there, Isaac. If you hadn't bobbled your stop-thrust in that last pass, I think you might have had me there. That'll do just fine.” He turns to face the passengers. “We'll be putting on the real show tomorrow afternoon, ashore, where we'll have more room to maneuver. Now, who's buying us a drink?” A couple of passengers reach for their coinpurses and will gladly escort the two of you to the bar in the lounge.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
"You are formidable, that was quite the challenge...although for me, there's always room for improvement." I'll adjust my hat and make my way over to the bar with Garsevan. "I worry that we aren't going to be able to find the time for meditation on this trip, while entertaining the people here may certainly be worthwhile...we shouldn't lose sight of our overall goal." Sitting down at the bar, I'll take a drink with the man, conversing very little and remaining as somber as I am known to be. Of course, I'll still be keeping an eye out for anyone acting suspiciously - it's wise never to let your guard down when a threat may be nearby.
