Well, I suppose I can't call myself much of a Windling without throwing back at least one insult. "Just do some stretches! I'm sure you'll eventually reach the part of your lower anatomy that's the right size!" Coming from one of my race, I'm sure that'll get a rise from his buddies.
Once we return, I'll get my dinner situated and join the rest of the group. If there is a current conversation, I won't interrupt, but if not I'll try to steer us over to what remaining preparations we have before the meet and greet tomorrow.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
I'll take a seat at the dinner table myself and wordlessly begin eating my meal. A number of things are weighing heavily on my mind, but at least sparring got my mind off some of them. Whether or not I engage in conversation will depend on whether someone else starts one - I'm content to eat my meal and go about my business afterwards if there are no interruptions.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
Alston, the two dock workers shake their heads. One of them says "Mammals!" as they wander off, more interested in who pays for the next jug of beer than in returning your shot.
At the dinner table, Mekhitar is warming up by telling a story of how he and the Golden Phoenixes trapped a Horror with an empty orphanage. The Horror had a preference for children, and would invade their dreams. The Golden Phoenixes wove threads to several of the children at the orphanage, creating links to them so that from a magical standpoint, it looked like they were still in the orphanage, then relocated all the kids to a neighboring village. When the Horror showed up to see why the nightmares weren't taking, the Questor of Garlen sealed the orphanage, since it counted as a home, locking the Horror in with the adepts. It was a rough fight against a desperate enemy, but they won through in the end. Shame about the orphanage, though, it had to be burned down as a funeral pyre for the Horror. Well, nobody wanted to live there any more anyway.
Gudrun glances over to Isaac. "The only Questor of Garlen you know is Bortar, correct?"

Re: Czlaplon Quest
I'll look up briefly and finish chewing. "That's right." Bortar is a nice enough fellow, he even gave me my replacement arm, but somehow I can't picture him sealing any orphanages. He was rather good at beating up Horrors though, from what I recall. Questions answered, I'll return to my meal. I'm still thinking about the boat trip, and what's going to come after the boat trip.
Re: Czlaplon Quest
Though I won't quite be jumping up from my seat, I'll shift noticeably at the mention of Bortar, and my attention will sharpen even more when the replacement arm is brought up. I've been trying really hard to be respectful and not give it more than a passing glance, but I can't help that it's one of my primary reasons for being here.
"I'd be interested in hearing more about the replacement sometime, Isaac, if you'd care to talk about it." I won't go into it any further than that on my own, leaving it open and optional. I certainly don't want to press on the issue, since the circumstances had to be fairly traumatic. I also won't divulge the reason for my interest just yet, but only because I wouldn't want to force the discussion out of guilt. If asked, however, I don't have any objections to sharing then.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
I'll put down my food quietly and turn to Alston. "What is it you'd like to know about it? I'm afraid I don't know much regarding the attachment procedure, that's more its creator's field than mine." I'll remove the glove that I've been wearing over the hand and rest it on the table, from a distance it looks more like armor than anything else, but this close you can see that it's more than that, being entirely made of metal with some leather straps. "I can tell you however, that I had it armored so that it would be better equipped for my work."
Re: Czlaplon Quest
I'll give a nod. I would like to learn about some of the specifics of the ritual, but of course that would be best addressed by the person who actual did it. After some brief consideration as to what Isaac would best be able to answer, I'll ask "I suppose what I'd most like to know is how well it functions. Do you have any sensation with it? And how delicate of motions can you make with it?"
Certainly the function of this one will differ in some ways based on its design, especially if it's armored. That brings to mind more structure to increase strength, which may limit mobility somewhat. However, there's bound to be at least some similarities between models. And even if there are more restrictions with this one, they would likely give an idea of an expected minimum for a more specific design.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
"Well, it was attached to my pattern, and after a short teething period that for a couple of days, it functions as well as my original arm would have. I don't have any particular feeling from it though, metal is still metal, pattern or no - that said, it's joined to my pattern in such a way that I can sort of 'feel' where it is. It's like being able to touch your nose with your hand despite having your eyes closed and being unable to see it. I can do that much without difficulty." I'll gesture with the metal hand at this time, at first without really thinking about it, and then as a method of demonstration.
"It's not really any stronger than my original arm was, but I can move it with all the delicacy of the original, at least."

Re: Czlaplon Quest
At the mention of being attached to his Pattern, I'll take a quick glimpse Astrally. I just have natural Astral Sight, not anything trained, so I don't expect to learn a great deal, just to get a general idea of the attachment (rolled just in case. Straight Perception for me is 2d6: 3+6+5=14).
I'll listen intently to the description and study the motion as it's demonstrated. "Dexterity and mobility is much more important than just pure strength." This is said simply as a statement of fact, and probably shouldn't be taken as an unusual viewpoint for an Archer or a Windling. "Losing tactile sense would be a blow, but not unexpected given that it's metal. And sensing positionality is important. Do you get any sense at all when you're holding something? For example, could you feel tension or pressure if you were to squeeze something?" I know it seems like I'm shopping here, but my sense of trying not to be rude is giving way as more questions start flying in to my head. Both my race's natural curiosity and my Discipline's directness make it hard not to keep asking.

Re: Czlaplon Quest
"Hmm...well, I can feel some kind of tension when holding onto things - though I can't explain it easily. I know when I'm holding an object and I do get a sort of sense for how delicate it is. At least I did once I got used to it - for the first couple of days I broke all sorts of things." I'll cover the hand with my glove once more, and race an eyebrow at the windling. "Why the sudden interest in my arm, Alston? Are you worried you might lose one yourself?"
