I nod quietly, raising an eyebrow at Torana's assertion. "Maybe I just don't understand how time passes in the world of the dead, but if the Vanguard met you, Mekhitar, after you had escaped from this crack you're talking about....doesn't that put you in two places at once?" I'll fold my arms and glance at the others, finally resting my gaze on Mekhitar himself.

"Ask your nethermancer these questions, not me," Mekhitar says, and winks at isaac suggestively.

Gudrun frowns. The effect, considering the scar down the left side of her face, is daunting. She could easily make small children cry just with that frown. "Time in the Realm of the Dead is not linear. Not in the way you understand it." She glances to Isaac and Torana to indicate which 'you' she's talking about. "And it is possible that the conflict at the opening was spread out over a good deal of our world's time. What may have transpired in hours in the Realm of the Dead may have taken weeks on our side of the Barrier. What I can tell you is that he is not Horror tainted, and that his story correlates with happenings across Barsaive over the past several months." She turns her attention to Mekhitar, who gives her a dazzling smile. "You are being hunted. You know this."

Mekhitar shrugs. "It's nice to be wanted," he replies flippantly.

Gudrun turns her gaze back to your team. "What is hunting him represents no danger to any of us. Having him with us will not increase our peril. You," with a nod to Torana, "are the team organizer. Despite my outranking you in our organization, this puts you in command. The decision is yours."

This...takes a lot of thought. Gudrun confirming his story isn't exactly a good thing...but at least it means he's telling the truth. I still think it might be a good idea to keep an eye on him, and if he isn't a danger to us then...Well, it probably can't hurt to have extra help in Horror-hunting. "...The more the merrier, right? Gudrun, I want to explain everything that's going on to the temple, but...that'd take a lot of Light Sprites. Would you mind sending a spirit with the message instead, or do you think that'd be a bad idea for any reason?"

I'll nod quietly, it really is all up to Torana whether or not we bring this guy along...but I'll be keeping a close eye on him if we do. "As long as it doesn't impede us in our mission, I don't see a problem with it, Torana. It's certainly a better solution than letting him wander off by himself." I'll tip my hat down. "That is merely my take on it."

Mekhitar bounces in his seat. "Yay, I get to go!" Everybody ignores him.

Gudrin shakes her head at Torana's request. "We would be better off filing a written report through the Promised Land embassy here in the Floating City. That would be more secure, and would allow for more precise detail to be sent."

Garsevan, who has up til now had nothing much to say, puts in his two coppers. "Fine, fine, we file a report, we get a Troubadour, we get moving. If we don't get back to the docks and start looking at what's heading north from here, we're never going to make any progress." Shaliko gives him a slightly surprised look, and nods agreement. Poor Kolbeinn is just doing his best to follow what's going on.

"A written report...I...can't actually remember the last time I even tried to do that. I remember drawing what happened in Death's Realm instead, though." A pause. "It...would probably be better if someone else wrote it. I'll go along to turn it in, but...I don't think I really want to make anyone read anything I write. Isaac, you know where we're supposed to be going better than I do...You've got the map and everything, so you come and help us find a riverboat to get there. Mekhitar, why don't you stay here for now and work with Kolbeinn on Throalic? You're a Troubadour, so language is right up your alley, right?"

"Right." I'll retrieve the map from my pack and work out from that where we need to charter a boat to next, glancing back at the assembled party. "I can probably get this sorted on my own, I'll be back shortly. Torana, maybe you should write that report together with Garsevan. The sooner we get this done, the sooner we all get moving." I'll glance at Mekhitar before I leave and then at Shaliko, nodding once to the man. With that, I'll head down to the docks to charter a boat so that we can get to our next destination.

"There's more to do than just getting the boat. We still need to resupply, and it'd be easiest then to have the supplies sent to the boat...And you might have to pay upfront to even book the passage. So don't just run off. It shouldn't take that long to get this written, and we can take care of everything all at once."

"It's not like I don't have any money at all, Torana. If it's going to be massively expensive, I doubt they'll require passengers to just hand over the money on the spot. At the very least I should check out the prices. So if you go and get the report sorted, I'll take care of that. That way we really will be taking care of everything at once, see?" I'll tip my hat to her and nod to Shaliko. "Hey Shaliko, why don't you come with me? We can talk on the way."

Mekhitar harrumphs. "Unless friend Kolbeinn here learns languages magically - <Sperethiel> You have the Speak Languages Talent? </Sperethiel>"

Kolbeinn shakes his head. "Not for another two Circles, I apologize."

Mekhitar nods sympathetically. "Going to be hard to teach him Throalic when I speak it through my Talent and he doesn't."

Shaliko stands, and is ready to accompany Isaac. "It makes sense to divide our forces here. We have no enemy in sight, and we can cover more ground if we split up by task."

Garsevan, meanwhile, has let out a dejected sigh. "I came on this trip so I wouldn't have to do so much paperwork. Do you know how many reports you have to file when you're training novices? If I have to work on the report with Torana and Gudrun here, and nothing personal to either of you, I'm going to need something stronger than fruit juice."

Gudrun gives him a disapproving frown. "You will want something stronger. You will not need it." She turns her attention to Torana. "My DIscipline is more suited to composition than yours. I will write the report, but I will require your contribution."
