FS as Passion Play
Has anyone run a full on "passion play" style FS game (as defined in the FSR:GMG)? What Grand Theme did you run with? How did the players take to the post game retrospective analysis? How long did you leave in each session for the "review"? Was it a success on the whole? Did that style of play eventually integrate within the session, if so how long did it take to become the norm? Did it change how the players played the game? Have you ever gone back to regular play or did you stick with the Passion play style? What lessons did you take from it/what advice would you give another group?

Re: FS as Passion Play
I'm running a Passion Play right now, but we aren't doing a review after each session, just talking about the setting. The Grand Theme is Qualities of Leadership - I wanted to explore peoples motivations and what they look for in a leader. The noble in the group is playing a Shelit noble. We are having a very good time, it is mostly an intrigue based campaign, with a lot of interpersonal interaction. It has been very interesting, but most of our conversations have been about the US election, at least since October. I have been doing my best to present different leadership styles to them and observing how my friends react to the various noble NPCs, bishops, and guild leaders. Good times, and no end in sight, we are close to this becoming my second longest running campaign in Fading Suns.

Re: FS as Passion Play
Cadiz Redemption is somewhat in the Passion Play format. It's theme is Hope and Hopelessness. We start each game with a series of analytical questions about the story and the characters as part of XP. The interrogative isn't always tied to the theme but it always relates to the previous session so those elements are there.
