Sword Master Defense

The SwordMaster is listed as getting +2 SoD and +2 Pd by 8th Circle, where as every other discipline is +1 and a +3. Should the SwordMaster be +3 SoD +1 PD by 8th Circle, that would follow the pattern for all the other Disciplines.

No, it was changed so they will end up balanced between the two defenses. It is nice to have a consistent framework to make things easy, but at times it doesn't quite reflect how things should be. This is one of those cases.
Earthdawn Developer and I have a gaming , though, let's face it, it is really an Earthdawn blog which also happens to have some reviews.

The difference there is intentional.

Going with a +3/+1 split would (depending on which way you go) push the Discipline too far into the direction of Bladesman or Gallant.
