Well time for the monthly request on how the production is progressing. Do you need help chaining down the chimpanzees or gathering enough slaves to build a pyramid?

The Minis Core book is nearing the finish line, with the Samsut minis photos being placed. The RPG Players Guide is in galley and is getting a bit of a working-over before we start placing art. The first adventure of the trilogy is in playtest.

What we need is a line art director. Contact me directly at andrew@fasagames.com. Here's the advertisement:

The line Art Director manages the look and feel of a specific game product
line, in collaboration with the Line Developer, who maintains the vision of
the line. The Art Director identifies appropriate freelance artists, handles
NDAs and contracts, commissions artwork, tracks its progress, and ensures
that art is delivered to the Line Developer for approval and subsequent
payment according to the product deadlines. The Art Director may also create
book cover and interior layouts, advertisements, art for web site use, and
other projects as required by the needs of the line or company. Compensation
is negotiable. The company may extend support for attending trade shows,
conventions, and the like as budget allows and job performance deserves.

So as for the original question, in a way, yes, we do need help chaining down the chimpanzees. Specifically the ones that are supposed to be doing the doodling.

(Just kidding of course, art team. I've been loving what I've seen come out from you guys. :D )

Welp, it's time for the monthly request for the status update. I've liked the various pieces of art that have been showing up via Facebook, but I'm curious about the books.

We are placing the last images in the Minis Core book and expect to have it in hardcopy for GenCon. The RPG Players Guide is still going through galley revision. The artwork for it is in production. Playtest of the first major adventure is about halfway through.

Here's the intro text to this year's GenCon adventure, Punch'd, or the London Chiaroscuro. Last year's adventure was in the Gruv and focused on exploration and natural hazards. This year's is set in The Big Smoke.

Something seemed a bit off about this Fagin. Nervous type, didn't savvy the lingo, not your usual company man. Something about him smelled of the Crown. Not a copper, more like the Whitehall sort, a bit ashamed of what he's got to do for Queen and Country. Not a gentlemen's game, espionage, which is why the Whitehall Fagins come looking for your sort, people willing to do ungentlemanly things for the greater good. Or for pounds sterling, they don't really care if you're in for duty or money. They do pay rather well. This one offered five pounds each for an evening's work, two sovereigns in advance and the rest on delivery. Of course you took the job.

So here you stand, lurking in the shadows down the street from a prestigious manufacturer, Smith and Tennant as if that makes any difference. You'll go in the back, run a deck of Engine cards Mr. Fagin gave you on a maintenance terminal, box up the output deck, and scarper. Tomorrow night, you'll meet Mr. Fagin at a different pub, and hand over the box in return for the remainder of your fee. If he's not there, and he did warn you that he thought he might be followed, he's arranged a dead drop where you can swap cards for coin. Nasty magical security in the building, above what you'd expect for such a firm, hence your team, with a Byron and a magician both among your ranks. Shall we do this?

So what's the status on the Player's guide look like as we start approaching Gencon?

It's in layout with the art under way. Not going to have it out in the next four weeks, but we'll have a WIP PDF to show off. We'll also be running demos of the final form of the mechanic with a new adventure specifically written for GenCon. Figure the Players Guide to be out before the end of the year, with the GM's Guide hot on its heels. Additional books already in progress include the Companion, with higher Tier characters, expanded magic, vehicular combat, and new tech; the London Gazetteer; Saurids of the Gruv, which goes very deep into the four major cultures and hints at the fifth one that nobody likes to talk about; the Samsut SB, with new Professions, new tech based on Samsut weird science, and details on the Samsut homeland; and the Magic sourcebook, that will massively expand on Weird Science for Earth, delve into the Theosophical movement, add new Lodges, new spells, and all sorts of goodies. There's also a three-book campaign about two thirds written, a series of linked adventures set in London, the Gruv, and the Samsut lands respectively. I'll have a schedule for some of that later this year.

Wow, now I'm drooling. I'll be in one of the Gencon adventures, so I can't wait to see how things are working out :cheerleader:
