1879 First Edition Errata

This topic is for errata for the first edition 1879 books, starting with the Players Guide. When submitting errata, please note the book title and page number. Corrections may be proposed by any forum member, but only the Line Developer has authority to approve a correction as canonical. Corrections posted by the Line Developer are, of course, canonical without further approval.

Effect should read NA, as there is no Effect Test for this spell.

Players Guide, p358
Grimoires
A table for Barrier Rating, Physical Defense, and Mystic Defense of typical grimoires based on materials needs to be added. While there is a Barrier Rating table in the GM's Guide, as of this post, that book is still in layout and not available. Following is the Barrier Rating Table from the GM's Guide galley:

Eidetic Memory
Karma is required for the Test to commit a text, image, or other information to memory. When recalling the memory and searching for specific details, such as mentally walking through a surroundings panorama and looking for a particular person, make an Eidetic Memory Test with no karma required against a base Target Number of 5 to determine if the specific information can be found.

Players Guide, p.267, the example should read as follows:

Otto Freundlich, an Explorer from Vienna, has been hard at work in the Gruv for several months since his arrival, and has garnered enough progress in his Skill Ranks that he can advance his Professional Rank from 1 to 2, and thus rise from the Initiate Tier to the Novice Tier. Otto’s player has also bought an increase to his Toughness Attribute, raising it from a 12 to a 13, which has increased his TOU Step from 5 to 6. The Explorer spends a considerable amount of time and money on training. His Professional Rank increases from 1 to 2. Not only does Otto rise from Initiate to Novice, gaining two Core/Optional Skill slots and two Free Skill Slots, he also gains the option to buy Durability. Having faced several dangerous situations in which being a bit harder to kill would be useful, Otto purchases one Rank in Durability immediately. His player spends 100 Adventure Points, and puts a “1” in the Durability box on his character sheet. He then adds 6 points to Otto’s Unconsciousness Rating, that being his current TOU Step, and adds 7 points to Otto’s Death Rating, that being 1.2 times his current TOU Step. If he had not raised Otto’s TOU Attribute, Otto
would only have gained 5 points to his Unconsciousness Rating and 6 points to his Death Rating. Otto must wait one week before he can raise his Durability again.

Players Guide, p.265, Gaining Skill Slots: The Profession Skill counts as a Core Skill for purposes of Professional Rank and Tier advancement.

Players Guide, p262:
The first paragraph of the example should read as follows:

Gwendolyn wants to increase her Dexterity Value. Her current Dexterity Value is 12, which makes her Dexterity Step a 7, so she needs seven days of intensive training. The training will cost her 7 shillings per day. For seven days of training, this totals 49 shillings. That's 2 pounds 9 shillings, a fortune for someone of lower Social Level. Gwendolyn knows it’s worth the money, so she pays it willingly.
