Isaac: He doesn't appear to be carrying any active or passive magic. His True Pattern looks pretty normal, the kind of thing you'd expect to see for a healthy non-adept of his age. “I would rather hope so,” he says. “Perhaps you could ask them to meet me in half a candlemark, at the warehouse with the blue door? My apologies for not bringing you to the council hall or the tavern, but please understand that we need to keep our need for adept assistance quiet.”

Alston: Nothing yet. They're just talking in low voices. You can't hear what's being said.

Alston: Isaac concludes his brief conversation with the man, tips his hat, and walks away. The man he was speaking with heads back into the town, and a dwarf woman falls into step with him, also finely dressed. Their backs are to you and they're too far away to hear. They go behind a building and on into the town as Isaac heads back this way.

Isaac: Mekhitar joins you as you leave the dueling ground. “Proposition?” he asks, with a cheerful and slightly lecherous grin.

I'll watch the pair until they've gone a good distance and are out of visual range for seeing any details. At that point I'll move to the back side of the roof before taking flight. Even if there isn't anything suspicious going on with them, it wouldn't do for them to casually glance back and see me moving out of sniping position after the conversation.

Once in the air, I'll head in the direction Isaac departed toward and look to descend by him for debriefing.

"Hmph, no. More like a problem." I'll say while walking. "His name as Gavin, and he's one of the town council members. He says that the town needs our help with something since adepts don't pass through here too often. I don't have any specifics though, because I thought we should all be present to hear him out on this. I don't want to go around accepting requests on behalf of the group." Weaving my way through the crowd, I'll pause when we reach the gangplank. "So I'm going to look around and see who I can find. Then come back here to talk with him again, perhaps you could do the same?"

Alston: You drop down to Isaac and Mekhitar in time to hear most of what Isaac just said.

All: Kolbeinn and Shaliko joined you as you walked back to the riverboat. Garsevan is waiting at the gangplank. The only one missing is Gudrun. “Talk with who again?” Garsevan asks.

"He met up with a dwarven woman on his way back." I'll add for what it's worth when I drop in. "Probably another member of the city council. Assuming his story is to be believed." I won't make that assumption myself right off, given our suspicions on everything else right now.

"The primary question on my mind is if we would even have time to meet with them right now, let alone help them. I don't think the ship will be very long before it sets sail, and we are sort of essentially booked to go with it." If it were just a normal riverboat trip, I would say we could make alternate arrangements if need be, but given that we are booked as entertainment, we kind of have those obligations to fill.

"I would vote that we check with the captain before doing anything else with this. If nothing else, we'll find out if a meeting is even viable, and if so how much time we have available." Depending on additional input, we might even be better off doing that before we relay the information to Gudrun. If the captain would veto a meeting outright due to time, it probably wouldn't even be worth disturbing her. And it's always best to leave both trolls and Nethermancers undisturbed when possible.

I'll step around everyone else so I'm facing all present. "We need to find out what it is this man wants, if it's something to do with Horrors, or if the town is having similar problems, then I'm afraid our obligations as entertainment of this riverboat aren't as important as that."

Placing a hand on my hat, I'll bring it low over my eyes, thinking about something. "Let's go and see the Captain first then, but startling her with the presence of many adepts would be improper, so I think only two of us should go. Mekhitar, you seem to be the best at talking with the crew, and Alston, you're perhaps the least overtly threatening of the remaining party members, so perhaps the two of you could go?"

Mekhitar nods, and gestures to his shoulder, inviting Alston to a perch. Alston, do you agree with Isaac's idea of sending you and Mekhitar to talk with the captain?

"If we can accomplish both goals, we should do so. But it's bad form to drop the bead on one target to shoot at another and potentially miss both." I of course agree on the priority scale, but often the direct path requires the order for targets to be chronological. "Let's focus on checking in to what is possible first and make the decision with all the perapectives scouted."

I almost feel like I should take offense to the remark on my threat appearance, but I can't really fault the point. Compared to a Horror Stalker with a metal hand, a floating Swordmaster, and a Vorst (enough said), I really must look like a walk in the park to deal with. With only a brief hesitation to contemplate this, I'll give an affirmative nod to Isaac and take up Mekhitar's offered perch.
