Combat Modifiers Chart - Revised Player's Guide

on page 239 there are some unclear stuff regarding the Combat Modifiers Chart
attacking from a moving platform: -4 to goal roll and in the example is it included a moving animal... so basically attacking on top of an horse or equivalent is amongst one of the worst conditions possibile in the game. Your combat skill is maxed by your Ride skill and you get also a -4 penalty on top of it. So most characters will have -4 to goal roll based on Dexterity + nothing to shoot a pistol from horseback.
using a sword or spera from horseback will have identical results. flat Dexterity -4.
Untrained with a weapon: i assume the character has 0 in the relevant skill. So not only you add nothing to Dexterity, but you also get a -2 penalty on goal roll. It seems excessive since already the weapons have been split amongst many categories (in my game i house ruled to bring back Melee for Melee and Artifact Melee and Shoot for Energy Guns and Slug Guns).
Ranged/Thrown modifiers
Short, make sense.
Long, too (both are explained in the Weaponry chapter)
Extreme also in the Weapon chapter
but Point Blank and Sniper range? what? Sniper can be assumed to be a definition for the step after Extreme (that in Weaponry is always called Extreme, by the way). But what is Point Blank? Melee distance?
And what happens with Bows or Rifles at short distance? They don't seem suitable items to get this +2 goal roll bonus. One thing is to shoot with a pistol in melee... using a rifle, is another story... don't even speak about bow...
