Hi,
I'm thinking of starting a FS campaign with my group of friends. I dearly would like some tips on nice music to use during playsessions. Any tips are welcome but if it exists on spotify thats even better.
Thanks in advance
/Patrik

Re: Music
Many different genres could be fitting in FS.
I kinda like Diary of Dreams for some encounters as they have a gloomy sound and fit well with creepy deep space themes I think. Try their song "Rumers about angels" for starters and see if it strikes your fancy.
But like I said, just about anything goes depending on the locale, theme and mood of a given scene.
Diary of dreams are hardly what a Hawkwood would play at a ball

Re: Music
Bits and pieces of the Dune soundtrack could definitely fit well. If you can track down the soundtrack to Star Control 2 that's got some good tracks on it too.

Re: Music
Tell us a little about your epic, Puttrick. Where will it take place? What will it be about (broad strokes)? What genre and style are you aiming for (swashbuckling; drama; action; horror; light and humorous; gritty; etc.)

Re: Music
Not that much to say. I played FS like 15 years ago. When I heard a new version was coming out I felt inspired to try to have a campaign of my own.
Due to work and stuff my time is limited to plan everything from scratch so I intend to use the warhammer campaign "enemy within" as a base. Found a site on The internet with some conversion notes so hopefully it wont be to much work.
As for music I know lots of useful stuff but since I really like music and always look for new stuff I thought why not ask around.
There is à music thread on rpg net I saw which hade some nice suggestions.
If I have the energy and time I might post a bit more info here later. One problem I think at least one player might lurk around here .
Have a Nicke day everyone!

Re: Music
This company has some really good instrumental music for games of all sorts: http://www.sonic-legends.com/music-cata ... gory/scifi
On principle I generally prefer instrumental music rather than stuff with words because words tend to distract me.

Re: Music
The soundtrack of the new Dredd movie is quite good. More dark and sort of technological.
Enjoy!

Re: Music
It heavily depends on the tone of the game, but I recommend Hildegard von Bingen, its perfect for transmiting a feeling of holiness. Diablo's soundtrack is great for those eerie places. For courtly stuff i recommend the "Cantigas de Alfonso X el sabio". For battle, prolly some metal or jRPG music, or maybe the Doom OST if you can handle the retro feel. Of course, if you want really demonic or pleasant/disturbing, you can always go Burzum.
Down go some downright good tracks that might come handy. All of this is Videogame Music, but precisely because of the narrative/descriptive quality of VGM it makes an excellent soundtrack for RPGs

Which places are they going, and what mood do you want to impress?
