How's this for a bit of a Fading Suns-Warhammer 40,000 crossover? The Orks make an appearance in the FS universe. In this case, the Orks were first created by a faction of the now-dead Annunaki. Their current homeworlds border the Known Worlds, and their fleets are composed of Kill Krooozers which can use jumpgates, and Fighta-Bommas that are carried through the jumpgates by the Kill Kroozers. The Ork handheld weapons are still the Sluggas (slugthrowing firearms) and Choppas (metal-bladed weapons).

The Orks still worship Mork and Gork, so that gives the predominantly-human, Universal Church-following, Pancreator-worshipping population of the Known Worlds a very convenient excuse to battle the alien, war-like, pagan Greenskins.

Now, Fading Suns is a wide game that allows for many different styles and genres of campaigns, but to me W40K Orcs would not fit the FS atmosphere at all – too cartoony. That said, making W40K Orcs an Anunnaki ‘product’ is interesting; isn’t that basically the backstory of the Mangalores in The Fifth Element? Weren’t they created as a warrior slave species by some extinct Progenitor species? Cool idea.
