Best of luck with the recovery

Re: The Trials & Tribulations of Dame Arcadia Justinian
Looks like our next session will be in two weeks (6th August), what with my wife's recuperation, family weddings etc etc. So in the meantime I'll peel behind the veil a bit and share some of the behind the scenes notes.
Now the murderer has struck some key players have their own ideas and plans of what should happen next. What actually happens will come to pass in the coming weeks but for now this is where they stand:
* De Havilland Hawkwood (Imperial Knight Player Character) wants to regain order and keep the nobles busy whilst he investigates so he will try to take control of the situation (flashing his charter as necessary) and get the tourney to continue.
* Sir Hemlock Justinian (cousin of Dame Arcadia and now her betrothed, another player) considers the protection of Arcadia to be his number one priority. He'll be sticking to her like glue.
* Brother Josay (Arcadia's confessor and a third player) knows Arcadia is innocent but is sworn to the secrecy of the confessional, he can't give her an alibi without potentially breaching that sacrosanct vow. Added to which the details of what she confessed are potentially more damaging than murdering a minor noble (especially if it could be argued that it was in self defence)
* What the other two players have planned, I have no idea....
The rest of the key interested parties are all NPCs:
* Appleby (the dead Baron's major domo) wants to maintain order and do things "properly". Knowing his master's wishes he informs Sir Cuthbert Muntbatten Hawkwood that he inherits his brother's title and estates and summons a Reeve judiciary, Herbert Pufflenaff tpo come immediately to handle the legal matters
* Sir Cuthbert himself is somewhat overwhelms and grief stricken by events. His personal hero, brother and feudal lord has been killed, possibly by the woman he sought to wed, and he has now been thrust into a position of power when insufficiently prepared. He is ready for blood and revenge, has the power to get it and is readay to listen to any relatively convincing tale that will facilitate the exercise of his grief.
* Dame Arcadia Justinian (the Players' patron) is rattled. She has seen an old acquaintance at the tourney, someone she hoped she'd never encounter again and now she is being accused of murder. Her guts tell her someone is targeting her and her instinct tells her to make a break for it and regroup elsewhere. Now.
* Baronet Theodore Gangrel Trusnikron trusts his page and that what he says (that Dame Arcadia was the murderer) is true. De Havilland plans to stress that it's a peasant's word against a noble but in the baronet's eyes this is no simple serf; he will take any disparaging comments or accusations of falsehood as a direct attack on his personal honour
* Count Innocence Decados is bemused by all this but eager to see how it all transpires. He fully expects to be blamed but he and his daughter will remain, stoically keeping their own council and avoiding teh other nobles where possible, while keeping intent tabs on all goings on.
* Sir Selwyn Justinian (Arcadia's brother) is secretly relishing events. He will do all he can to aid the case against his sister or at least add to her appearance of guilt (even to the point of helping her escape)
* Baronet Christopher Windsor Hawkwood wants to see justice done but not if it costs him any great effort. He is a fair minded man but bores easily. This is after all not his direct family or his lands, why should he stay if he has better or more interesting things to do?
* Other nobles may just start to drift away unless there is something to maintain their interest e.g. the tourney, more feasting or very juicy gossip....

Sounds like another great game. How long are each of your evening sessions?
