What does a throne room look like?

I was looking at some fan art of a big high tech dais with a floating throne and it just didn't feel like Fading Suns to me. So what does a 55th Century Throne Room look like? Fashion aside a Noble presides over their court for functional government and legal needs but what does that room look like?

Is it high tech? Would nobles covet all of the cool toys or would they worry that a floating throne would alienate them from their subjects? Would they put up with cords and cables all over their court? Would they have other exceptions to technology? Moving portraits or music players in place of musicians? With enough money and power would a noble's throne room look like a tacky arcade?

Would Nobles tolerate people attending their court in tele-pretense or would the idea of someone demanding to speak to the lord without presenting themselves physically seem rude to Nobles?

Think Machines are a necessary part of ruling and modern fief. Would Nobles use them in court or would they be considered uncouth and distracting? Would a ruling Noble have a think machine in his throne? Would he avoid any contact with the devices, preferring to have a court seneshall search for information for him behind a curtain?

Would fashion come and go over time? Where your grandfather's court was full of nobles sending one another messages on their think machines and he wore a think-machine advisor in his crown, would the modern noble's court require nobles to leave their think machines at the door with their swords and even electric lighting is seen as a bit outdated in style?

My take.....

Much dependent on the fief, noble, status, aand house of the noble who sits on that throne. An al Malik's throne room in Archeon may look like Jabba's throne room. A wealthy but rural Gwynneth Hawkwood may holad court in something more similiar to Thranduil's Hall.
