As the summoned Fog Ghost makes the the fog being a "killing cloud" it attacks Physical Defense, but fog cant hurt you really, so its attacks are stopped by Mystic Armor, because fog is full of "bad" energy. I many times used creatures attacking vs Physical Defense but they attacks were stopped by Mystic Armor.

Just like spells can be stopped by Physical Armor or Mystic Armor.

I agree that the attacks are "Physical" and thus target Phys Defense. The spell's target number was the Spirit's Mystic Defense, but once summoned it's on the physical plane, not in astral space. The reduction by Mystic Armor signals how easy it is for a being made of fog that can "sharpen" itself to slip past your chainmail.

It's an odd case, I agree. I'd be fine with whatever Errata gets decided on.

Etherial don't forget that Fog Ghost is not a real manifested spirit, its just component of a spell effect - which is totally out of casters control. As I see, many new rules and ideas are in Ed4. And its ok, as long as its balanced (anyone can stop the spell, caster dont have any control of who will be attacked), so its just a little compensate as Mystic Armor is almost always lower than Physical.

Because there are no Talents that work like it, doesnt mean spells, spirit (dragons, horror) powers cant work like it. Imagination is unlimited. As far as its balanced, its great to have many options.
