Great minds think alike or youre reading my mind (if so stop that ), as thats exactly what Im on right now. Im gathering more data about how fast RL animals can get up to "terminal" velocity.
I just shared what I got so far because more heads gets more ideas.
Also my "20 yards or more" is just for simplicity and to not let slower mounts charge from shorter distances than faster ones, but still using mounts Standard action is included, even if mount have much more "walking" speed than 20 yards, to charge mount needs to use it anyway (which is for game balance, as charge talent is a heavy hitter).
There is quite some info about charging on horses on historical and reenactment forums/sites. Other thing have to be extrapolated from data that can be gathered. I doubt there ever was anyone charging on rhino (thundra beast).
One of my players was playing with cavalryman for like 2 years RL and 1 to 12 circle, during which he got 4 different mounts, and we found some really bugging problems.
So I shared what is ready, rest is under WIP.
