cause Desperate Blow is not Armor or a Weapon which is what a Weaponsmith can upgrade...

Thanks Barakavar... for stating the rules. Now, let's see Blood Charms.

p.415

Blood charms are magical items that draw on the magical power within a character's blood. Seems pretty self-explanatory. Blood Pebble is just that.

Characters must attach blood charms directly to their skin; the charm breaks through the skin to reach the blood it needs to activate. ... Do i need to press the matter further?

Blood Pebble is just another blood charm.

Don't confuse Living armor with Blood charm. Fernweave is living armor, and it's not blood activated.
