In previous editions we could use thread magic on Karma ritual talent and thus improve Max Karma.

Can we still do that in fourth edition eventhough there is no Karma ritual talent anymore?

Yes, this is also true of Durability. To be clear on Durability, since it has come up before, if it is improved the effective rank goes up, not the "rating" (e.g. 3, 5, or 7) which is a static number and does not change.
