karma ritual

how karma rituals work in 4ed? is there one, so one character can effectively use duoble its max karma a day after a day of resting? Uses all of his karma points in the morning in a battle, then makes his kamra ritual, get his karma back to max, and uses all of them again in the afternoon?

That sounds like it would be a significant day in the life of that adept. To rise to the cause and try all that you can to overcome the odds stacked against you and your friends. A truly epic day.... something legends are written about.

i have written this once already but got lost in the eather, so here it is again.

I have a new, but relevant question/remark. We are playing using the new ED4 rules wherever we can. So at third circle all of the (human) characters has 15 karma points each day, instead of a much lower, previous value (about 3 per day), and sometimes 30 (if they can do their ritual during the day). This we find a HUGE change from the previous editions, and also a huge amount in itself. Because typically there is only one (or none at all) "big" battle in a day, lasting for a few rounds characters are mostly able to use karma to nearly every roll they make. We have the impression, that the number of decisions a player has to make is lowered by this change of rule, since the answer to the question "should i use karma on this roll?" is almost always "Yes", especially in combat, where the margin of error is typically narrow, since its about life and death. Whats more, there is even karma to use for awareness and wilderness survival ("im searching for food, i use karma, because there is plenty!"), etc tests, where erring is less (and certainly rarely) lethal.

Basicaly we have the impression, there is little exagerration in the statement, that: the new, huge amount of karma points just raises every player characters every important roll by an estimated value of 4. We are leaning toward disliking it, and returning to the old rule, since it seems to require more thinking, decision making. We wonder: what was the developers way of thinking behind this change? Are we missing something? We see it as something that made the game less, not more.

Why were people only spending 3 karma points each day (on average) in previous editions? Legend Point costs?

that was the regeneration rate at third circle. one ritual a day+3 points per ritual=3 points per day assymptotically.

Oh yeah. I was on break and my head was full of code, forgot about that. Hm, going to have to think of that a bit...
