After reading all these comments about Disciplines and spending Karma on Talents and some being limited on that... I was wondering if we will hopefully see a paradigm shift in the design of just what these Disciplines are supposed to represent.

Why not combine Air Sailor and Sky Raider together as a Sky Sailor Discipline and then within the Sky Sailor there are options for both Air Sailor and Sky Raider, like Discipline Paths.
Why not combine Warrior, Swordmaster, and Weaponsmith into a single Discipline and then have Paths that represent each of them within the single Discipline.
I can see Archer either being its own or also combined with the Warrior one.
I could see Beastmaster and Cavalryman being combined thematically along the lines that both deal with beasts and animals of some kind.
Scout, Thief and Troubadour likewise could be combined into a single Discipline with the Discipline being overall based on being charismatic and dexterous type and then having Paths for each of them.
Then we have the magical spellcasting Disciplines but for some reason I can see those being their own because of how different the types of spells are yet they also could be combined into a single Discipline.

I'm only wondering why we have so many various Disciplines that have so much overlap and would it be a bad thing if they were changed to fit a more modern design paradigm?

Thanks for the response Nahor, that made sense.

It sort of even helps with the idea that allowing people to get into multiple Disciplines doesn't make sense... if the Discipline represents a person's world view, role in life/society/within the game setting, etc... than how is it even possible for a person to go from being a Swordmaster to a Troubadour, for example? If the choice of the Discipline is that important, and having all these Disciplines really matters and they represent the character's personal expression in his/her life, and then we think about all the rituals the person must have had to endure in order to even take the first steps to First Circle... it seems that the personal choice of Discipline is so important that Adepts shouldn't be able to multi-Discipline unless they make a really big sacrifice, or just not allowed at all in the basic rules and only allowed as an advanced rules option.
