Will we be able to play/run Earthdawn with just the players' book?

Almost. As long as your opponents are all Namegivers or Horrors of Handwavable Power, the Player's Guide will be enough. Unfortunately, the system has changed in enough fundamental ways that many of the already published creature stats are incompatible and the Creatures are all slated for the GMG.

regarding the meaningfulness of any ETAs. I think the ETA for players guide is (was) august. Its now october.

Any new update on ED4 release?... kinda anxious... ok more than just Kinda...

So... any updates yet? I don't expect a release date, but it would be nice to see a "Hey, we're still alive and working on XY." Would also be good to post that to the KS page, as I don't think that every backer looks into the forum here.

I would also suggest a quick update on KS/social media. I know that both Mataxes and Tarliman are dealing with real life stuff atm, but I'm sure they'll be back with more info.

Funny, I was just thinking today we are probably long overdue for an official update. I thought the initial book was going to be out in August with the 2nd book following in October. I have been really curious as to where we stand and when we can get our first bite at the initial book.
