I try not to pressure you guys all too much but I'd really like to know whether I can add the ED4 book to my wishlist for christmas or not ... (have two more days to hand in the list to my loved ones)

The PDF for the Player's Guide will be out by year's end (hopefully sooner).
If it isn't there will be blood.
I will track down the missing art and draw it myself with the blood of slacking artists.
It won't be as pretty, but it will make a statement.
Print copies depend on how quickly the printer can get them turned around and in the distribution pipeline.

Four months is nothing when it comes to delayed Kickstarter projects
I for one am just glad we're getting a new edition - it'll be out when it's out. Until then, my advice is to play the other rpgs that are out there.
If you want to see a long delayed kickstarter, take a look at Deluxe Tunnels and Trolls or even Cthulhu 7ed (which I backed).
