Hiya,

Just a quick note. In ED3 (and earlier), an Excellent -- not Extraordinary -- success is an Armor-Defeating Hit. I'm assuming that's what you meant, but just in case you've been playing things with Extraordinary successes...

For sure, there are situations and items in ED3 (and earlier) that modify the result level needed, but out of the gate, Excellent = Armor-Defeating.

But that was just an example to show the point.

Until the full rules are released to everyone, we are stuck.

The change for how successes are incorporated into the new rules is too extensive to apply piecemeal.

We needed the rules for every talent and spell that the characters and NPCs will have access to before we can attempt to use any other parts of the new edition.

This is not correct. 18 is 1 extra success not 2. 10 is number to achieve success, only 15 is extra success.
By general new ordnance is harder then earlier series.
