ED3 - Common Magic Item: Soul Armor Ring?

So my Nethermancer learned the Create Common Magic Item knack. I've been reading through the Enchanting section of the Player's Companion and it states that spells can be the basis for Common Magic Items. So I'd like to use Soul Armor to give my Nethermancer a nice Mystic Armor bonus. Unfortunately, the Companion doesn't give a great amount of details or rules of thumb concerning what the bonus should be. The spell gives a +5 Mystic Armor bonus. So can a Common Magic Item also give the same +5 bonus?

Sounds more like a thread item you are making, which version of the game you using? (1,2 or 3rd)

its more a named spell thats woven into a ring, affecting person who wears it.
Spell in the sense of its mechanism can be a base for magic item, and i mean the "what it does with energies " mechanism.

Depends on the scale of effect.

Create Common Magic Item
Lets start with a Common Magic Item. Dwarf Winternight Cloak would have two different requirements. One of them would be the Enchanter knowing the Resist Cold spell or having True kernals of True Air and True Water as well as the material components of the cloak. Either way, the item is only a +2 bonus to Cold spells, which is less effective than the spell.

A character with the Soul Armor spell which gives a bonus to Mystic Armor could create a common Cathayan magical item called a Moon Pearl Brooch. This item gives a +1 Mystic Armor bonus. You need either the Soul Armor spell or another spell that allows a mystic armor bonus, or a moon pearl to make the item. Making a soul armor ring with a +1 mystic armor bonus say with orichalcum or other magical elements should be easy enough. 0 Legend Points, material costs of enchanting such as orichalcum about 150 silver.

Create Thread Item.
Create a minor thread item that would give a gradual mystic armor bonus
Thread Rank One +1 Mystic to Thread Rank Four +4 Mystic. For example a ring or even chainmail 1100 Legend Points, material costs of enchanting such as orichalcum about 2,750 silver pieces (Light Armor template) +base cost of item (180 chain for example).

Named Spell, 1300 Legend Points, Blood Wound, 5 Strain, +5 mystic for example cast on chain mail imbued with the spell for all time. The always glowing blue armor may affect interactions with others as well as your ability to hide effectively if nothing else.

What it comes down to is game balance on a scale of legend points and material costs as well as the obviousness of the magical effect.

The Moon Pearl Brooch like effect is the general level of power the spell would do when applied to a common magic item.

Now in my First Edition game, Crypt, a Spirit Nethermancer (aka Sword Saint) had Soul Armor enchanted Chain Mail.
If I designed it for Third Edition:
Enchantment cost would be heavy armor template + light armor template (6,680 silver) or 13,180 in a store.

Generally the more you are willing to pay in terms of silver and legend points, the greater the effect should be. If you are not paying Legend Points, the effects should be small. Check all the common magic items in the player's guide for ED3, most of them have a general effect or a small +1 bonus, with the Dwarf Winternight Cloak having a very specific +2 bonus to a specific effect (cold damage) and a +3 bonus to finding water with the Diving Rod for Wilderness Survival. So general/small effects at +0 or +1 are the most common with specific effects at +2/+3 bonuses possible.
