hi!
1) can the "summon [ally spirits]" talent be learned using versatiliy by a human scout, and then summon all kinds of spirits (perhaĊps with the use of other talents, spirit talk and the like). Or he can only learn the "summon" talent, but since the kind of spirits that are summonable with it are dependant on the discipline (nethermancer-ally, elementalist-elementals etc), he wont be able to summon anything?
2) what about spellcasting? can he cast spells like a wizard by learning spellcasting, wizardry, spell matrix?
thanks!

He can use Versatility to learn Summon [Ally Spirits] and Spirit Talk to summon and speak to spirits. Same thing for Summon [Elemental Spirits]/Elemental Tongues. Or for that matter Summon [Nature Spirits]/Spirit Talk. They can also find Spirit Hold/Elemental Hold to be useful against angered spirits, but not needed to summon and instruct them. They are somewhat at a disadvantage, those with Summon in their Discipline may make Willpower/Charisma Half-Magic Tests against spirits, other Disciplines can only use Charisma/Willpower.
The character must versatility Read/Write Magic to learn spells, Thread Weaving to thread them, and Spellcasting to cast them. They must also have access to a matrix talent or an object that functions as one (such as a Spell Matrix staff, blood matrix, talisman, etc.) Since they used Versatility, the highest Circle spell than can cast is equal to the lower of their own Circle or the Thread Weaving Rank (ED3R p.184). So a Fourth Circle Archer character with a Thread Weaving [Elementalism] Rank of 1 can only cast First Circle spells until he improves his Thread Weaving to Rank 4, and at that point must advance a Circle and Improve Thread Weaving to 5 to gain Fifth Circle spells.
As James said, part of the problem is getting these magicians to teach you core techniques of their Discipline such as summoning and spellcasting, as well as learn spells for them. It may require Persuasion Tests, small or large favors, or even deeds to find a teacher.
