Crushing blow and Karma

Crushing blow is a discipline talent for a warrior at 7th circle. The same circle at which a warrior is granted the ability to spend karma on close combat damage tests.

My question is this. Crushing blow requires a Karma point spend to use, but not for a Warrior for whome it is a discipline talenta and so he/she can choose if they want to spend one. So can a Warrior chose to spend a karma point on Crushing blow and also a karma point on the close combat damage test?

yes he can.
example:
Purifier
damage talent on 1st circle is body control. may spend karma for damage.
7th circle: may spend karma on unarmed damage tests.
crushing blow (not sure if discipline talent or not not which circle) also karma on damage.
on choice the purifier may spend 3 karma on a single damage test.

as such your warrior may spend 2 on his.

So I currently have an 8th circle warrior in my party that has crushing blow on rank 9, as well a rank 5 gorup pattern thread attached to the talent. He uses a threaded two handed sword with the basic melee weapon template, and has a Melee weapon talent on I think its rank 9 which also had a rank 5 group pattern thread attached to it. He has also entered into a blood sword with another PC and increased his Strength to 23, or step 9. (Perfectly acceptable given their history.)

Now he rarely misses in combat and when he hits, it is mostly armour defeating and then he rolls step 9 (STR) + step 17 (weapon) + 14 (crushing blow) + d6 (karma for crushing blow talent) + a d6 (warriors can spend karma on damage rolls at his circle). So thats step 40 plus 2d6!!!!!

Am I missing something or is this correct. I hope it is as I am about to seriously buff my NPC warriors for future encounters with this evil little munchkin. (You know who you are!).

yes it is correct.
and like i said in the other thread, player chars and NPC's can all do the same.
so put him against a sword master who has the same type of thing going.
dex 8 ripost rank 10, sword with ripost +2 bonus, group patter thread to ripost +5, major thread item to riposting +10 = step 35 to ripost + karma
add to that the parry option which could be similar, just add+3 for weapon size which makes a step 38 parry.
and the warrior will have a hard time hitting anyone, and will be reposted into the ground :P

easiest solution is off course a nethermancer with the pain spell, or an elementalist with the vines spell and take him out all togheter.

players are easy to beat if you really want to :P
