How do GMs deal with elements created from elemental spells when they are effected by opposing element, either natural or magical.

Eg1

An Elementalist casts icy surface down a narrow corridor. There followers discover it ( a few of them take a tumble.) and decide to use thier oil and touches to melt the ice. Would this work?

Eg2

Same set up only this time, the followers Elementalist casts a fire based spell to remove the ice. Would this work?

Hiya,

Consider using the caster's Spellcasting Test result as a target Difficulty Number (it's magical ice).

In the first example, you could use a "Damage Test" for the burning oil or the flame from the torches.

Second example, you may want to match the fire Elementalist's Spellcasting against the first caster's test result.

In both cases, you could also use the spell's Dispel Difficulty as the target number.

Just some off-the-cuff options while I watch source code compile...

Take kaer, James
