I assume this has been brought up in the past, but I'm guessing it was probably lost in the great forum sundering of '11...
Are wizards really supposed to get the "Vines" spell? It really, REALLY looks like an elementalist spell; it even has the "Wood" tag. The official PG errata doesn't mention it.

Hasn't come up in the past, IIRC.
It's been a Wizard spell since ED1. Just like Flame Flash (which has the Fire subtype--the subtype isn't really an indication of Discipline, in any case).
I agree it's an odd fit, and if we were to redesign spells from the ground up, these things would probably have been sorted out (which you can see as niche protection on one hand, pigeonholing on the other... at least for direct attack spells, it's sometimes beneficial to have one or two that are very different from the rest of your Discipline, mostly in regards to what armor thy go up against).
