I believe the maneuvers section also has a prologue describing how the cost works - basically a summary statement saying "maneuvers cost extra success, making those successes unavailable for normal use." That's really all I'm expecting similarly for Knacks. For Knacks, since it will be repeated ~100 times, a line saying "Extra successes: 2" would save space over "The Adept may/must spent two extra successes on the Talent roll to <Kanck effect>."

There could be some Maneuver to spend extra successes from Thread Weaving to make Spellcasting a Simple Action.

What about making it a Move action instead of Simple? That way it does act as a limit on what a mage can do in a round.
