No.
For all magical items, all astral sight will tell you is that the item displays the characteristics of a "living" pattern, and is therefore magical in some way. The details of that examination might (depending on the item) give clues as to its nature, but not specifics.
Using Item History will tell you if an item is a pattern item, but like regular thread items that's only the beginning of the story. You still need to figure out what True pattern it's connected to, and why in order to take advantage of that connection.

Thanks,
I was a bit unclear with the phrases:
"item does not have a True Pattern of its own"
and
"There is nothing to distinguish a minor pattern item from another item of the same type."
If viewing minor pattern item would show it had a "living" pattern of a magical item.
I fully understood how much is involved before the item could be verified as a pattern item and used.

Ah, I understand where the confusion came up.
"Nothing to distinguish it" is a bit misleading there -- there's nothing to distinguish it if you have no way to determine it's magical (whether via astral sight or some other method).
An item doesn't need a True Pattern to read as "magical" to astral sight. For example, firestarters or other "common" magic items. A pattern item is magical (even if it doesn't have a True Pattern), and therefore would read as magical.
