Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

A band of non-adept Brigands can be a good fight as well at 2-1 odds.
Gold and Silver we have not, but steel we have aplenty- Lathryus Vorpatril

2-3 Bog Gobs is also a favorite vs 4-6 brand new PCs, have one grapple the lead PC with sticky body and then their half-spears stabitty stabitty. Watch closely how the fight goes with that one, and running one of the Gobs with a looted Healing Potion or Last Chance Salve is a nice out depending on how the fight ends. Describe the gobs as running from something, and this can also lead to a friendly local Alchemist shop that was raided leaving the proprietor bloodied but alive, giving the PCs a sympathetic NPC they can go to for healing aids.
I also suggest grabbing one of the introductory adventures, like Infected, Ardanyan's Revenge, or even the free Kaer Tardim (which works great now that everyone has Thread Weaving, and places Farliss' Dagger into your campaign, which is a cool minor Named item that comes up in the metaplot). Don't run the chosen adventure right away, tho. Seed the characters and locations into a few intro scenes - say 1/3 of the first session, then take a break, then start up the adventure events. This gives the players much more context in how the adventure fits into your Barsaive.
