Using current events for Earthdawn games...

Hiyas!

Has anybody used current events in the Ukraine as a basis for his/her own ED campaigns (transmogrificating Russia to Thera & etc.)?

It hard to have them used those are current events xD I don't think I will use them tough.

I wonder what could be a cool stand-in for the Crimea region? Vivane? The big Floating Rock Fortress?

What about setting Thera in Ukraine's spot? A destabilizing civil war in Thera where Throal decides to Annex some portion.
