How many people live in Barsaive?

Hi folks, does there exist some numbers about how many people live in Barsaive? Or at least in some parts of it? Do the sourcebooks give numbers? How many inhabitants live in the big citys (which are on the Barsaive map)?

I don't really need these numbers but I'm curious. I remember reading somewhere that there are like 200.000 people in Landis. But that seems way to much. If this lost country without some real citys in it has so many people than Barsaive must have some dozen million.
But maybe something like some 100.000 or 1 or max. 2 million seems more likely?

Any scourcebook facts or opinions?

I just found in the Throl sourcebook the number of 190.000 people in Throal. And "common wisdom has it that this is one third of the population of Barsaive" but this is more "populare conjecture than hard fact".

Does this number correspond to what other books say?

There are no conclusive hard numbers for how many Namegivers live in Barsaive. In the Barsaive chapter of the EDR Player's Guide (and in earlier editions) there is a Population Distribution Table. There's a couple more such tables in the ED1 Barsaive box set. But they are percentage guidelines. The ED3 Gamemaster's Guide and the ED1 Barsaive box set have capsule summaries of the various cities and their approximate populations. As you noted, there are some numbers in other books.

Given the lack of ability to carry out any meaningful census in Barsaive, numbers can be whatever the GM decides them to be.
