I don't understand how the questor got trapped in the tomb. The demiwraith description says she was stuck down here because there wasn't anyone to work the elevator, but the elevator can be worked by one person and doesn't appear to be broken or anything... am I missing something?

it can only be operated from upstairs as the mechanism inside the elevator and downstairs are both shot(if i remember correctly). however they are repairable if you have the correct gear, materials and skills.
for the players this will mean either kill the elevator completely and climb up and down or someone with woordworking/engineering skills.
any questor of uppendal will do as well

Huh... that would make sense, but unless I'm missing something, I don't see anything about that in the copy I've got (print version of Shards 1). Weird. Well, I'll figure something out. Just as easy to say the questor was killed by the cadaver men or something. Thanks!

well, i must say i have reread my own shard, and i seem to be missing that as well..
however i think i played it this way because this seemed most logical.
also the elevator was upstairs when the players come in and the room downstairs was reported broken.
so that would also indicate the questors inability to get back up
