Thanks for the advice and reviews! We ended up taking chunks of your movement thoughts and developing them into rules that allow the use of miniatures (which we like) but reduce the opportunities to get in-between the holes in the rules and exploit. As we play test them, I will post them so that others who desire to retain miniatures for combat situations may employ.
