Arma's response is pretty much on the ball.

Making a list, as proposed, with "Name, LP Award, Habitat, Number Appearing" really isn't a problem. It's when it includes full stat blocks, chunks of special rules or powers, etc., that it is a problem. Adding the legalese is a "nice to have" as it is important to acknowledge and respect trade dress.

Nowadays there is tendence to say "OMG COPYRIGHTS! I WONT PUBLISH IT!" but in my opinion a lot of great work done by fans is rotting on their hardrives because of that. In my opinion projects like this help to make ED more popular and therefore publishers have more profit from selling books.

I am glad that RB policy is so open, and I put yours copyright info in every project I do. It's like saying: "Thanks RB for giving us this great game, but I wish to make it better and more popular, so please don't mind me using some copyrighted information in my project"

It's a fine line and balancing act. Gotta remember that we license Earthdawn (and Demonworld) from FASA (same with Fading Suns and Noble Armada from Holistic Design, and Blue Planet from Biohazard Games), Ultimately, the game is their property, not ours.

When we get around to publishing our own original content -- and we will, though that will be a few years from now -- then we can afford to be more "open" with those properties.

Really appreciate people's understanding on this. Some fans don't seem to get it. The majority of the fans on this board, at least, do.

Well, gamenight was last night. The girlfriend is running this game and really likes to go more freeform, so this was pretty important for her.

So yesterday morning, I sat down with the 2 GM books (we only have the 2 GM and 2 player books currently but will be getting more) and compiled a list of the creatures, horrors, dragons, and spirits in excel. Each was seperated onto a tab, without any major formatting, the goal was to use it on our android tablet. Each of the tabs has a heading that may give a brief description, as well as the page where that section starts in the GM book.

Seemed to work great, the girlfriend gave it a great review, and once we get some more books in I "have to update it right away", so I thought I'd share, feel free to muck it up however you'd like.
