Elementalist can boost his Recovery Tests by Fire Heal, so its no so much to spend one for a thinking and prepared Elementalist. And you gain Defense rating for number of HOURS, so its a major advantage. Talent is balanced well, all you got to do is prepare youself.

A talent should stand on its own and not rely on another talent to be balanced. It is a moot point though as they are changing the talent.

An easy fix would be using the Natural Spell Defense mechanism from 3ed.

So instead of always increasing MD by thread items, progression in your discipline and other stuff, just use the fix MD generated by the Perception attribute.

But lets wait and see, what the D-Team comes up with.
