ED3 Journeyperson & Karma

Am I right in assuming that Journeypersons have only a single Discipline Talent, i. e. Threadweaving? Because this would mean that Karma is almost completely useless for them.

ED3 Namegivers of Barsaive book, Circle-Advancement (p.155). Journeymen choose Discipline Talents at First Circle and each Circle thereafter.

Actually, my reading of the Journeymen rules (not worth any more than anyone else's, admittedly)...
Karma *is* largely useless to a Journeyman until 4th and 5th Circle. The rules Anunnaki cited above refer to selecting Discipline talents for the purposes of advancement only--not for the purposes of making them Karma-enabled.
Before 4th Circle, a Journeyman uses Karma exclusively to power Karma-required Talents (like Wood Skin). Once they hit 4th Circle they have an Attribute usage for Karma (plus Thread Weaving), and then at 5th Circle things open up with the "Choose the Path" power which makes it possible for a Journeyman to make *any* Talent Discipline, but only for a short time and at a Strain cost.
It's a bit of a let down for the player of the Journeyman, I know, but it does offset their ability to mix-and-match for a pretty amazing Talent selection.

But it is still important to note that the Journeyman must always choose Karma Ritual as an advancement Talent, even though he has a few Circles before he can use it at his leisure.
