Targeting using astral sense.

During my last session my nethermancer clamed that he could use his active astral sense spell to “see” a chimera (enough to target it with another spell) when it was far enough into a blizzard that it would be imposable to target using normal sight. I would agree that astral sight would see strait threw the snow so astral sense would detect the chimera, the only question is wether it provides sufficient location information for targeting.

In the session it did not matter because the chimera was dead in the middle of the cave, not having lived long enough to even try to run.

Yes, it is possible to use astral sensing to get around some visibility limits. Assuming that the only thing preventing the creature from being seen was the blizzard (there aren't other intervening objects or the like), and the creature is within range of the particular astral sensing method, it can be done.

Though in this case it wouldnt have worked would it as the chimera wasn't a living object it would have been translucent in astral space?
